Goodbye, Bow Tie Guy

So Vanderbilt's Chancellor, Gordon Gee, is resigning to take the same job at the Ohio State. I'm still trying to figure out why he is doing so considering:

• He will be making less- $1.2 at VU plus a free mansion to live in v. $1 million at Ohio State, plus there's no state income tax in Tennessee
• He's already had the job- He was the head man at tOSU before he was at Brown and then left Brown for VU. Why would he go back to a job he already left?
• He turned them down 2 weeks ago and said he was totally committed to VU.

I wonder how much his decision is related to the Wall Street Journal exposé about his spending habits, his divorce from Constance Gee (who is a tenured professor at VU), Constance's Cheech & Chong impersonation, etc.
